A simple act of Faith

The passage below is an account of how God blessed our simple act of faith...

My aunt and uncle are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary tomorrow. My sister and I spent much of our childhood with them.

My sister stays at Mumbai. She badly wanted to be here with us to celebrate the anniversary. Since the function was decided all of a sudden, we couldn't book the ticket well in advance. The train ticket was in the Waiting List. The last one week was irritating, because the waiting list was moving so slowly. We checked the ticket status everyday. And we prayed everyday.

On Wednesday, after having unsuccessfully tried to book a ticket through Tatkal, my sister just told me she was just going to pray and pack her clothes in faith.

The train was supposed to leave yesterday. My sister had to leave for the railway station directly from her office. She took her packed clothes to her office! When asked about it, she replied her colleagues that she was trying to leave for home.

When I called her up yesterday morning, the ticket was still in the Waiting list. We hoped for the best and hung up.

I usually call up a Prayer Support when I'm in serious trouble. Why not now, I thought. The idea seemed silly - calling up a Prayer Support because you wanted your sister to come home. There are millions of people travelling at this moment, and to ask to pray for one person who wants to travel is extremely childish and................... silly!

Nevertheless, I called up. The person at the other end, though surprised by my request, prayed for me.

An hour passed, and my sister called up saying the ticket had been confirmed. Yeah, and her entire office was glad for her!

My sister packed her clothes in faith, and I asked for prayer no matter how silly my request was.

God blessed our simple act of faith. As I'm typing this, my sister is travelling, she's just a couple of hours away from our home.

I realize, that sometimes, we need to express our faith in very simple steps.

When you read this, please do keep my uncle and aunt in your prayers. This is the same uncle who had a heart attack, two years back. God, in His mercy, has added these precious years to my uncle's life, and has helped him to live to see this day come true!

Thanks and God bless!
